Holiday Information:

HOLIDAY INFORMATION

RESORT - The town of Nerja and the surrounding villages and conurbations are built on the sloping hillsides between the Mediterranean and the Sierra de Almijara mountains.  Making the most of Nerja does involve walking, as much of it is an old town with narrow car free streets.  Naturally, this means steps and slopes, so the resort is not always suitable for those with mobility or respiratory problems.  For further information on Nerja and its surrounds, we recommend the AA 'Essential Costa del Sol' guide book.

ACCOMMODATION - All our accommodation is well equipped for weekly rental, which includes bed linen and towels, with many properties fitted with little extras not normally expected.  However if you have a specific requirement for an appliance, please enquire beforehand.  TV – please enquire re channels available as these can vary.  There may be some restrictions on the use of a BBQ, depending on local fire regulations.  Items do get lost or broken over a period of time, so if there are simple inventory shortages such as glasses, crockery or light bulbs, please use your initiative and purchase replacements from a local supermarket.  You will be reimbursed on your return home, and it will be a quicker more convenient solution than a telephone call to our local Agent or us.

SWIMMING POOLS – most swimming pools are not in use from 1/11 – 31/3

RESORT DEVELOPMENT - The Costa del Sol and Spain in general are undergoing a period of rapid expansion due to its increasing popularity.  We have no control or responsibility at local level over the sudden commencement of building or road works and the noise, which may be generated, though we do try our best to alleviate the problem.  Due to the climate, such works can start early in the morning.  We do not accept bookings on any property if we know of such work at the time of booking.  If we learn of the onset of building or road works prior to departure, we always advise clients of the situation, though it is impossible to estimate the intensity of such works at a future time when the holiday is being undertaken.  If such work commences during your holiday and we are advised of the disturbance, we will endeavour to offer alternative accommodation subject to availability, which may well be limited especially in high season.

CHANGES TO YOUR ACCOMMODATION - If for any reason we have to make changes to the property you booked, we will offer equal or superior accommodation in a similar area of Nerja, or in the event of this proving unacceptable, a full refund, unless the change is due to events beyond our control as listed on our 'Terms and Conditions' page.

SEASONAL DIFFERENCES - During public or local holidays, some facilities may be closed or have limited hours.  Spring and Autumn are popular times for many visitors, however at this time local people do take the opportunity to go on holiday themselves or refurbish local amenities etc.  Therefore there may be a reduction in services during off-peak periods.

BROCHURE ACCURACY - All our properties have been personally inspected during numerous visits in all seasons, or by our local agents.

SAFETY STANDARDS - All accommodation meets local safety and hygiene standards, though it should be remembered these might not be exactly the same standards as in the U.K.

HEALTH - No inoculations are currently required for Spain.  An E111 form, available from all Post Offices, entitles those listed to free or reduced cost emergency health care in all EU countries.  It is not a substitute for holiday insurance, however if an E111 is used, some insurance companies will not deduct the excess charged under the Medical Expenses section of their policies.  The sun is strong at all times of the year, so please use protective lotions especially on children.  We recommend insect repellent and if you are concerned about stomach upsets, we suggest you drink bottled water and avoid ice in drinks.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS - A ten-year passport is required for all travel.  Some non-EU passport holders may require a visa for entry to Spain.

TAXIS – Taxis/minibuses can be arranged.  The driver collects you at Malaga airport, holding a board with your name on it.  Please enquire for taxi transfer prices.  This is payable to the driver on arrival.  A taxi holds four people and a minibus holds five to eleven people.
