Mijas, a tourist town at the foot of the hills of the same name, possesses typically Andalusian houses. Its traditional status as a mountain village has been combined harmoniously with a major tourist complex located in the coastal enclave of La Cala, where there are 12 kilometres of beaches. The whitewashed streets of historic quarter, Arab in layout and nestling in the mountain landscape, houses some buildings of interest, among them some churches and hermitages. There are small houses at the foot of the beach separated from the sand by a peculiar walkway. There is easy wheelchair access to the beach. A pleasant walkway joins the car park to the beach, which is also equipped with wooden walkways that lead to the showers. The small fishing boats that lie scattered upon the sand are a pretty attraction of this beach. Mijas is about a 15 min drive to Marbella and along the way you will pass Calahonda, Riveria, Elviria, Cabopino. Marbella-This thriving town rests on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. At present there are over 40 golf courses within a forty minute drive and nearly two thirds of these are within fifteen minutes of Puerto Banus.
